Hi all

hope you all feel well with ths little bit of sun.

i am just going to ask if any of you have had the experances i had yesterday at the local walk in centre, i have developed a chest infection and i am on enbrol and as you all know the quicker we get anti biotics the better so as the Drs are closed on saturday went down to the local walk in centre and they could not understand why i needed them and then when i told them what meds i was on did not even know what enbrol was for and when i was talking about anti TNF they looked at me has if i had come from mars. but bless the prescibing nurse she agreed with me and gave them to me and today i feel much better. has anyone else been to a walk in centre and had this experance.

when i went on enbrol my nurse said when i go a cold or a chest infection i would feel terrible and she was right i have never felt so bad but as i said i feel better now.

Hope you are well.

keep warm and well

Audrey.

Hi Audrey,
This doesn't surprise me at all. Even my own GP starts to glaze over when I talk about these things.
I wonder if NRAS could provide some sort of basic info for these places?

I hope the A/Bs start to work their magic very soon.
YES I'VE CHANGED, PAIN DOES THAT TO PEOPLE.

Hi Audrey,

No, it doesn't surprise me either.
Like Julie's GP, mine will admit he knows nothing about humira. He is an excellent GP in all other respects but seems to have a mental block when it comes to RA.
How hard is it to look up a drug on the internet ? We do it so why can't medical staff?

Hope you feel better very soon.
Love, Doreen xx

My previous consultant, before I became involved with Bolton, told me that student doctors get about 3 days "training" in RA, so it's little wonder these things happen. However, NRAS have, in the past, had a concerted campaign aimed at GP's so my guess is they just don't read the literature. I always take any new info etc into my GP and he's great. He admits he doesn't know a vast amount about RA but he does at least read up about it. Can I suggest that you all take a bundle of NRAS literature to your personal GP's and explain where the leaflets/booklets are from?

hello everyone

thanks for your reply's i do feel better now still got the cough but that will go in time, the only side effect i have is my pain level has gone up and i think it may have set off a flair up but this is part of RA and we all go through these things, hope you all feel well and the fresh air is doing you all good.
